Sizing calculation
Aerodynamic effective area, volumetric flow, supply-air concept — as evidence for building approval.
We accompany your project from early design through to handover. Sizing calculation, tender text, supply, installation and instruction — code-compliant per DIN 18232 and EN 12101, with full documentation for handover and subsequent operation.

In a new build, the economics of a SHEV are decided early — often before the roof structure stands. The earlier we are involved in planning, the better opening areas, device position, control cable routing and supply-air following can be coordinated with the building structure, roof drainage and building services. We work along the HOAI service phases: phases 2 / 3 bring advice and sizing calculation, phase 5 detailed planning, phase 6 tender text and bill of quantities, phase 8 supply, installation, commissioning and handover. Sizing basis is DIN 18232-2 (natural) or -5 (powered) with object-specific geometry and assumed fire load. The result is the required aerodynamic effective area, from which number, size and layout of the NSHEV follow. For PSHEV we calculate the required volumetric flow, the air ducting and the fan temperature class. Handover takes place together with the fire safety expert or the inspection expert under PrüfVO NRW — with functional evidence of all components.
Aerodynamic effective area, volumetric flow, supply-air concept — as evidence for building approval.
Positioning, cable routes, control panel, detector and manual call point planning.
Bill of quantities per VOB/C or as functional tender.
CE- and EN 12101-compliant, with Declaration of Performance and approval evidence.
Installation by certified fitters, incl. control cables and panel.
Functional test, protocol, operator briefing, documentation.
Each phase with clear milestones — no schedule surprises and no cost blocks in change orders.
Site inspection, occupancy, fire protection concept, initial feasibility.
Calculation per DIN 18232 with device proposal and variant comparison.
Layout plans, cable routes, interfaces to facade, roof, electrical.
Just-in-time to site, interim storage by arrangement.

Rooflight-band NSHEV across the hall length, coordinated with high-bay racking and fire compartments.
NSHEV plus powered extraction in fire-load-intensive areas.
Stairwell SHEV, atrium extraction, possibly pressurised smoke protection.
Ceiling outlet, supply air via facade, smoke curtains for containment.
Powered CO ventilation plus extraction per Garage Ordinance.
Stairwell extraction, SHEV via rooflight dome, smoke detectors with FDA linkage.
Planning and sizing are between 3 % and 5 % of the system cost. Price is driven by the aerodynamic effective area — the larger and more complex the device count, the higher the total.
Prices are indicative without planning fees and VAT. Binding after sizing calculation and detailed planning.
Sizing, installation, handover — no interface between planner and contractor.
We plug into HOAI service phases 2 to 8 — clean invoicing, clean documentation.
We select the system that fits technically — not the one that maximises our margin.
With an inspection expert under PrüfVO NRW — up to signature on the handover protocol.
Send us plans, occupancy description and fire protection concept (or draft). We respond within one business day with an initial assessment and a price frame.
