Hold-open system inspection

The annual expert inspection in accordance with the applicable proofs of usability is the central legal evidence that your hold-open system is operable — performed by a trained specialist contractor. Our inspection team documents every detail, traceable for authorities, expert assessors and insurers.

Hold-open system inspection

Confirm operability — not just preserve it.

The expert inspection differs from maintenance (upkeep, adjusting, replacing) and the operator's monthly function test. It comprises a complete, standards-compliant check of all safety-relevant functions — smoke-detector sensitivity, reaction time, holding force, closing speed, battery status, self-test. It must be performed by an expert person with the appropriate qualification and manufacturer training and culminates in a written inspection record with defect classification (A/B/C). The record is the central basis for fire inspections, expert assessment and insurance evidence.

Variants

Which variant fits depends on the installation context, the existing building and the fire-protection concept — we advise per project.

Standard configuration

Cost-efficient solution for the most common installation contexts — tested systems from established manufacturers.

On request

Bespoke configuration

For non-standard sizes, installation contexts or higher requirements driven by the fire-protection concept or expert reports.

Existing buildings & retrofit

Recertification of existing components or phased replacement — coordinated around live operations.

All prices excl. VAT. Maintenance contracts are quoted on a per-unit basis.

Where we work

We cover every typical building type — from residential to industrial complexes with hundreds of components per site.

01

Residential

Apartment buildings, stairwells, transitions to boiler rooms and underground garages — usually with smoke-protection properties.

02

Industry & logistics

Separation of production, storage and administration plus protection of mechanically loaded plant.

03

Public buildings

Schools, hospitals and administrative buildings under NRW special-buildings regulations — often combined with hold-open systems.

  • DIN 4102

    Fire behaviour of building materials

German baseline standard for classifying building components under fire exposure.

  • DIN EN 1634-1

    European classification

Test method and classification under EN 13501-2 — basis for CE marking.

  • DIN 31051

    Maintenance

Basis for annual maintenance duties and audit-ready inspection records.

  • BauO NRW + SBauVO

    NRW state law

NRW Building Code and special-buildings regulation — binding for all special-purpose buildings.

Eight steps to documented operability.

Structured, measurable, standards-compliant — each step with measured value and finding in the record.

Expert inspectors

Demonstrable qualification as a competent person for hold-open systems, manufacturer-certified for all common systems.

Digital inspection record

Immediately available, completely archived, optional access via project portal.

Maintenance + inspection combined

Both services in one appointment — saves cost and effort.
